Funny Wedding Moment

Some wedding things evolve to be funny, and one of the things I love is being able to add my own brand of humor to a situation.

While the Bride was getting ready, one of the things that was part of it was having to crochet-hook her into her dress, all 30 buttons worth. As they were doing it, the bride told her sister to make sure that the crochet hook got back into her overnight bag. I said "I think you should give it to your Groom, and make sure I'm there to take photos when you do it." They loved the idea.

So we did just that.
Here's the sister not only giving the groom the Crochet Hook, but also instructions.

And then the bride's just embarrassment into the very EARTH and our laughing our guts completely out when he said.....

"I'm never gonna get this: HOW BAD DO YOU WANT TO KEEP THIS DRESS!"

They were a fun bunch. By the way, these men are all submariners out of Bremerton!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Friends

The boys met some new firends yesterday. They were over playing guns for quite awhile.
I think the little boy next to James looks like Nathan did when he was little.
They got pretty dirty, which is what boys are supposed to do!

Parade

This weekend was the Holland Happenings celebration and parade. They do this every year to celebrate Whidbey Islands dutch beginnings. Anyway Michael was in the parade with his band. He is the good looking guy with the blue sax!!!

After the parade James and Emily rode on the Ferris wheel. Neither one of them had been on one before and they really liked it!!
We had a good visit with Dad and Joyce and the weather was great for Saturday!

Family update

Ok, so here's the scoop. Natalie did end up having strep (I found out after I sent her to school of course). She started the antibiotic that night. Rachel had it as well. The doctor just called in that one for me so I didn't have to pay another doctor bill. They are both feeling much better. Hailey (so far) hasn't shown any signs of sickness since last week. (knock on wood ). As of this moment we will be going about our normal daily business of school and work.

I had a good time Friday night out at the campgrounds. We planned some things and laughed a lot. God has truly blessed us.

Hailey is officially three. I can't believe my baby is getting so big (figuratively speaking). She has almost made it to 25 pounds so she is growing. It is just a slow process. She is going around with 4 fingers up telling everyone that she is "free now". What a turkey! I love them all so much.

Well, that is all the rambling for now. I wish you all the best day ever.

AHHHHHH!!!!!!

Well, this week at our house has been interesting. It has actually been a little frustrating. I took Hailey in last Wed. because she had the symptoms of a bladder infection. Of course the doctor agreed with me that something was wrong, but there is no bladder infection. If I want to bring her back in a couple of days (and spend another $100) I can feel free to do that. Thankfully her fever is gone and she is doing better. By Sunday afternoon Natalie was very tired and had a high fever. We stayed home Sunday night, but went to school on Monday. Monday after school we realized that it probably would have been better to stay home. Tuesday morning I made a doctor's appt. He looked in her throat and told me how bad it looked and I was right, it looked just like strepp. The thing is that the strepp test came back negative, but in two days they would have the other test in and we would know for sure. In the meantime she has kept a fever and is missing school. About the time the other test comes back NEGATIVE she will most likely be doing better. I love to pay money for someone to pat me on the back and tell me what a good job I'm doing and to keep it up. I could probably get it free somewhere else, but why when you can pay for it. Ok, I think I'm done complaining. I'll let you know what the results of the strepp test is when it comes back. Have a good day.

Time with Grandma

I though you would like to see some pictures of Emily and Grandma planting flowers together. They had a great time and the flowers look so pretty! They even planted some strawberries! Yum!!

We had a great visit and they even survived my cold house!!!

Missions Conference

Well, here in Spokane we have made it to one of my favorite times of year. At the beginning of every April we have our Missions Conference. I absolutely love it. I'm always tired at the end, but the time spent is so well worth it. What a blessing this year has been already. Things are slightly different this year because we have four National Pastors here. One is to Indonesia, another from Haiti, the other from Kenya, and the last from the Philippines. Some of their words are hard to understand, but it is very easy to understand their heart. They told some stories tonight about mission life where they are. I don't think we here in America can ever fully comprehend what some of them face and will face so simply give the Gospel. I'm learning to not take for granted the freedoms that we have. I'm so thankful for the reminder that God wants all the world to come to Him and some are willing to pay a very high price. I was pretty upset this morning when I saw snow out the window, but then I found out that three out of the four National Pastors had never seen snow. What an experience for them! I guess I can even be thankful for snow in April. There are three other families here as well. The one couple is here helping the four Nationals get support. The other two are great families as well. I love getting to know each of them. I hope we can be a part of their ministries. The other part that is my favorite is that Spring Break is here. We will spend this final week with my mom before she heads back to the other side of the country. It has been so wonderful having her here and the girls will miss her very much. I'm very thankful for the time God has given for them to get to know her. I know that in the future those extended visits will be few and far between, but God's will is important and must be carried out. He will bless and we will be much happier with His blessing. I hope all of you are doing well. Thanks for listening to me ramble on. I couldn't help it. It has been such a blessing I had to get it out.

Change of Heart

Wal-Mart has decided to let the woman's family keep the money. I'm so glad!
